Hacking at the highest level of excellence
Large crowds reigned at the 10th hacking contest which took place during the LinuxTag exhibition in Berlin. The event was again sponsored by Astaro and saw six teams compete against each other to test their skills to the limit. Around 300 spectators watched and listened to the running commentary by the two moderators, Markus Hennig from Astaro and Kester Habermann from LinuxTag.

IT security theses on a high-quality level during the CAST event
Last Thursday I visited an event of the “Competence Center for Applied Security Technology for IT security” (CAST) in Darmstadt, where CAST awarded the best IT security final paper of bachelor, diploma and other qualified students in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Astaro at Infosecurity.nl in Utrecht, the Netherlands
Together with our distributor Contec, we were showcasing our solutions at this year’s Infosecurity.nl, which took place from 3rd to 4th November. We are very happy as we could welcome so many visitors at our booth and as we had lots of interesting stuff to show and discuss with them. We had a nice little idea to create attention among the Dutch reseller community, sending them empty Astaro Security Gateway boxes in the days before the event, which only contained a note inviting them to come by and get to know what should be in the box.
Astaro sponsors OWASP AppSec Germany Conference 2010
The OWASP conference began with a social gathering in the “Barfüßer” brewery in the center of Nuremberg. Around 100 participants enjoyed the reunion of sorts, with cold beers drafted directly on the dining table, pretzels and an opulent Franconian meal

After the “Grande Dame” of ICT fairs in Germany, the SYSTEMS, closed forever in 2008, the IT security expo it-sa moved to Nürnberg as independent trade show, having been the IT security orientated part of the SYSTEMS all along.
