Astaro Supports Charity in Friendly Soccer Tournament

This past Saturday, six members of the Astaro staff competed in this year’s charity soccer summer cup. Our selected group proved to be thoroughly motivated and energetic as it was all in good spirits and supported the Hänsel + Gretel Foundation ( http://www.haensel-gretel.de ).

Astaro Supports Roparun 2011

The Roparun is the longest non-stop relay race in the world, covering approximately 530 KM between Rotterdam and Paris. The aim of this charity event is to raise funds for cancer-diagnosed patients and took place this year between 11th and 13th June 2011. This event is not only unique in its length, but also with its goal carrying the motto: “Aiming to add life to the days that remain, when no more days can be added to life”.

Studies show that  physicians who study in large cities prefer to stay there and it can be difficult for rural areas to attract doctors. Additionally, as training costs rise and doctors look to large city hospitals for their careers, rural areas in states like such as Minnesota and Indiana have noticed a shortage in doctors

Hacking at the highest level of excellence

Large crowds reigned at the 10th hacking contest which took place during the LinuxTag exhibition in Berlin. The event was again sponsored by Astaro and saw six teams compete against each other to test their skills to the limit. Around 300 spectators watched and listened to the running commentary by the two moderators, Markus Hennig from Astaro and Kester Habermann from LinuxTag.
